Fujiwara Yu Bizen Ware Flower Vase Ikebana Kenzan Ash Container
This is a Bizen ware flower vase made by the late Yu Fujiwara, a Living National Treasure. It is very heavy, but it might also be usable as a kensui (waste-water container) or haiki (ash container). It comes with a protective wooden box. There is a potter's mark (image 16). Regarding the condition, inside the vase, there is a mark where solidified molten ash peeled off (image 8). This appears to be a kiln flaw, but it is treated as a flaw. The protective wooden box has age-related damage and dirt. The vase has a height of 6.06 inches, an inner mouth diameter of 5.71 to 5.91 inches, a body diameter of 7.28 inches, and a weight of 1.8 kg.
