Jiro Kinjo Tsuboya Ware Fish Motif Vase Pottery
Type: Pottery. Ware: Tsuboya ware. Height approximately 7.52 inches. Width approximately 5.75 inches. Condition is excellent. This is an outstanding vase, brightly fired with good glaze color and fish carving. The trumpet-shaped opening is a rare feature, with few similar pieces. The vertical kiln mark on the waist, resembling an oceanic strait, is very intriguing. The paulownia wood box is made of thick material and is considered a high-quality example for Jiro Kinjo's work. The inscription on the box is his autograph written with a felt-tip pen.
