This is a rare Nordic vintage Tamara Aladin masterpiece, a Mesimarja 2-way flower vase. It was purchased from a vintage shop, used at home, and then stored. It is a glass vase and candle holder from Riihimaen Lasi, Finland. The clear cobalt blue color is beautiful even when simply displayed. Designed by Tamara Aladin, one of Finland's leading designers, who was active at Riihimaen Lasi in the 1960-70s. Her representative works are exhibited and housed in multiple Nordic museums. This is from the Mesimarja series, named after the honeyberry, a blue fruit similar in taste to grapes, also known as the fruit of eternal youth. The fruit and leaves are the motif.
