Tokoname Ware Natural Glaze Boat Tokkuri Edo Period
No dry batteries or flowers are included for photography. Size: Height 11.22 inches, body diameter 7.87 inches. Over 40 years ago, while touring Tokoname kilns with a folk art enthusiast, a long-necked item was spotted in a pile of ceramic fragments, and upon pulling it out together, this product was discovered. It appeared to be damaged with mud and dirt attached, so it was purchased from the landowner. After washing it at home, what was thought to be damage turned out to be accumulated soot and ash, revealing natural glaze and identifying it as an old Edo period item, which was then used as a flower vase. Branch arrangements look beautiful with its wabi-sabi aesthetic.
