Herend Apponyi Marron 6449/AM Empire Vase Hand-painted Brown Gold Hardware
This is a very rare vase from Herend, a Hungarian luxury porcelain brand that celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2026. It is an “Empire Base” specification item with a pedestal and two handles, originating from the Napoleonic era. Unlike the green or pink commonly circulated in Japan, this is an “Apponyi Marron (brown)” color, not released in Japan, which is very calm and elegant. It was purchased directly in Europe approximately 40 years ago and has been carefully stored as a decorative item in a glass display cabinet at home. It has never been used as a vase (e.g., filled with water). There are no noticeable scratches, chips, or peeling of the gold plating, and it maintains a very beautiful condition overall. The brand is Herend, from Hungary. The series is Apponyi Marron. The shape is an Empire Base (integrated pedestal, twin handle). The model number is 6449/AM (with a handwritten signature on the bottom). It is hand-painted. The approximate height is 8.35 inches. The approximate caliber is 4.45 inches. The approximate base (pedestal) is 3.07 inches square. The main body is in very good condition, but the original seal from the time of purchase remains on the bottom (back side). Due to aging, the seal itself shows dirt and damage.
