Shoji Hamada Mashiko Ware Iron Glaze Flower Vase 28.5cm Pottery
This is a Mashiko ware pottery piece by Shoji Hamada, a Living National Treasure. It is an authenticated work by the artist. This is a large and impressive vase, 11.22 inches high, featuring iron-glaze paintings on two sides by Shoji Hamada, a Living National Treasure. Large flowers are depicted with dynamic brushstrokes, giving a vibrant impression. The vase itself shows no particularly noticeable scratches or dirt. The size is approximately 11.22 inches in height and 5.91 inches in width (at the widest point). The original wooden box is included. The lid of the original wooden box was previously broken into two pieces and has been reattached with adhesive. During that repair, the two wooden frames were mistakenly reattached to the opposite side, causing the box inscription to appear on the front of the box. This item is a personal storage item.
