Arita Ware Nenki-an Matsumoto Peizan Vase Pottery
This is a vase made by Peizan Matsumoto of Arita Nenki-an, a renowned Japanese kiln and solitary ceramic artist who preserves the tradition of polychrome glaze techniques, a traditional Japanese craft. This vase features a scratched small flower pattern created with Peizan Matsumoto's unique polychrome glaze scraping technique. Polychrome glaze scraping is a very difficult technique where parts of the polychrome glaze are scraped off with a spatula, leaving only the pattern, before firing. The vase dimensions are: height 6.69 inches, diameter 7.48 inches. It comes with a wooden box, which is old. The material is ceramic.
