Mitsuo Kano White Porcelain Carved Flower Vase Boston Museum Collection Showa
This is a white porcelain carved flower vase by Mitsuo Kano, a renowned ceramic artist of the Showa era who won numerous awards both in Japan and overseas. The work features a bold spatula carving of a grass pattern on a celadon-like surface. Similar white porcelain carved works by him are housed in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the São Paulo Museum of Art. The item has been stored for over 50 years and is in an almost unused condition; the co-box has dirt, sunburn, and stains, but the main work itself is as good as new. It comes with its original wooden box and cloth. The height is approximately 8.27 inches. The diameter is approximately 7.09 inches.
