Shigaraki Ware Naokata Hidasuki Waka Carved Lidded Tea Caddy Tea Jar
This is an extremely rare Shigaraki ware by the first generation Naokata, a large tea caddy with a lid, featuring a hi-tasuki pattern and carved waka poetry. The product dimensions are approximately 6.73 inches in height, with a body width of about 3.43 x 3.43 inches, and a weight of approximately 623g. This is a very old item from the late Edo to Meiji period, showing dirt, scuffs, and repaired scratches due to age and long-term use. The mouth has been skillfully restored with a period yaki-tsugi repair. This piece features waka poetry beautifully carved all over within its excellent hi-tasuki pattern.
