Antique English Pine Bread Cheese Board Hand Carving Rustic Wood Cutting

This is an antique/vintage piece from the UK. It is a stately, tall breadboard or bread cutting board made of bright antique pine from Wales (one of the four constituent countries of the UK). It features careful hand carving with impressive, large, continuous “BREAD” lettering. The three deeply recessed three-dimensional diamonds may be hiai-bori (diamond-carved). This piece has a cool and cute accent. It is heavy and thick. Both sides are slightly raised in the center. The front has a decorative surface, while the back is plain and neat with no carvings. Both sides can be used as a flower stand, display stand for objects or dolls, and are solidly made. It is common for handmade cutting boards to have motifs carved by each household. While Victorian works often feature elaborate (celebratory) letters, flowers, and wheat patterns, this simple piece is likely from the 1920s or later. It has a bright pine color. The dimensions are 12.09 inches in diameter x 1.18 inches in height. The central diameter is 8.39 inches. It weighs approximately 1.5 kg. Numerous fine use scratches are visible, but I find them to add character.
