This is a vase created by Ryuzan Aoki, a recipient of the Order of Culture, a member of the Japan Art Academy, and a judge at the Nitten Exhibition, from one of Japan's renowned kilns, inheriting the Tenmoku technique. This vase is a Tenmoku Hato vase created with Ryuzan Aoki's unique Tenmoku glaze. Ryuzan Aoki was Japan's foremost ceramic artist in the Tenmoku glaze technique.
