Kojima Kenji Iga Ware Tokkuri Sake Bottle Kiln Variation Pottery - 7

Kojima Kenji Iga Ware Tokkuri Sake Bottle Kiln Variation Pottery

$163.81

Kenji Kojima Iga Shin-gama Yohen Tokkuri. Size: Approximately 1.65 inches mouth diameter, 3.90 inches body diameter x 4.92 inches high. Includes original wooden box and cloth, no other accessories. This is an Iga-ware yohen tokkuri. While the typical bidoro glaze of Iga-ware is not present, the scarlet color and the wabi-sabi aesthetic of the kiln variations, combined with its wide, stable form, allow you to fully appreciate the charm of unglazed pottery. Kenji Kojima (1953-) studied under Tozo Konishi in Bizen and is a leading Iga-ware artist who creates diverse and dynamic pottery, from tea ceremony ware to everyday vessels and objects. He presides over Iga Shin-gama. Ceramic items may develop crazing due to their nature.
