
Nevers Faience Tokkuri Sake Bottle Vase Blue White Decor
This is a sake bottle from the Nevers kiln in France, likely dating from the 18th to 19th century. It is a faïence piece with beautiful blue and white decorations, and due to its size, it may have been used as a vase. The rounded body and elongated mouth feature patterns resembling flowers and strings. There is a chip on the mouth, but no other major damage. The interior is glazed, making it clean enough to be used as a sake bottle. It can hold approximately two go (360ml) of sake. The soft, melting glaze is a charming feature. Approximate dimensions are: diameter about 6.69 inches, height about 3.74 inches, and base diameter about 2.36 inches. It does not come with its original wooden box, cloth, or pottery history. As an antique item, it may have dirt, scratches, and chips from age in addition to what is described.
